Reading Between the Invisible Lines

I told you once I got back to blogging there would be an abundance of them, lol....ok, so maybe its because all of a sudden there is this incredibly odd feeling.... I'm looking over my shoulder for the full moon because it seems the inmates have escaped the asylum!! Just odd things happening the last couple days with folks who are reading things between the lines that just aren't there!!
First off was one of my gfs, the other day she missed my phone call... calling back she told me she wasn't ignoring me. Hmmmm, I didn't think she was, I mean just because the phone rings does not mean you're accessable to it.... well, later she text messages me something about hotel accomadations for the bowling tourney, I'd have to make them because everyone's mad at her. Ummmm, WTF? I definately missed something there, oh well...
Now it gets even more interesting...I mean, Exosists head-spinning confusion!! This is why occasionally, I will turn my phone off! So my daughter calls me to find out about 'brother A' because a friend of hers, 'friend A' heard something.... ok, first big no-no! When someone comes up to you and says... 'do you know what I heard?' Omg, gossip possiblities abound! So brother A is seeing a girl B who has the same name as daughter's friend A. Well, before you know it..supposedly brother A is seeing friend A, which is no where near the truth! Have I lost you yet? lol.... then my son's gf calls because it was her friend B who told friend A's friend that the son's gf said that brother A was seeing girl A who has the same name as friend A. Now I'm lost, lol...and I'm the one telling the story!! Anyways, moral of the story.... don't read between invisible lines, it only causes trouble and needless BS.
Sooooooooooooooo, I'm going out tonight....good food, good friends, good times.... these people will spin my head back the other way and make me laugh, get me grounded. Open-mouthed

And me without my camera....

This morning I should have had my camera with me.... bad timing, it was still at home sitting on the counter. I was a bit rushed as I left this today, we had a potluck thingy at work and my hands were full. The warming weather had brought on a beautiful morning including the soft touches of hoarfrost upon the trees, brush along the roadsides and fences. Hoarfrost appears when the moisture in the air from the melting snow settles upon things during the cooling of the night....
Everything seems to glisten and sparkle when the sun rises and peaks through the fog and clouds.

What in the World?

There is just sooo much going on a the moment....trying to regain some sort of normalcy after the holidays, the whole political goings on...both locally and at work, family moments to recognize and of course dealing with an actual winter this year!!
I guess with the beginning of each new year, most of us try to figure out just what its all about once again.... so yep, there I am with everyone else. Looking for what should be done to make the new year a better one.... better than what? Hmmmm, we're working on that part.
The political scuttlebutt? Hmmm, We, the state of Minnesota is still wondering who our senator really is. A close election went into recount....some ballots were added back in after being rejected, some were 'found' and now its time for lawsuits and court cases to decide just which ballots are the right ones!  I can understand all of that...I mean, at first they weren't counted, now they are but what makes it different now? Can a candidate just pick and choose which supposedly uncounted ballots the first time through get to get counted the second time? Shouldn't they either all or none be counted instead of disputed over which circle looked filled in enough to count? What a mess.... Work politics are interesting as well, the boss retired now its the hurry up and wait process to fill the vacancy... and in the meantime, everyone will be going through evaluations to determine salaries.... oh such an exciting time! ( notice the sarcasism!!! so much for normalcy at work, lol)
This first month of the year is always a busy one for family goings on.... a few birthdays (Gramps turned 94!!) and my parents celebrated 45 years together... the grandbaby is growing by leaps and bounds and basically just trying to survive cabin fever amongst the rest of us.
This year we have been 'enjoying' a true winter.... the snow, the cold and combining the two on somedays!! I spent an hour in the ditch one snowy morning due to the icy beneath snow. Twenty years on the job and it was a first for me.... hopefully the last or at least maybe in the next twenty years, lol. I'm not a patient person when having nothing to do but twiddle my thumbs... oh well, winter we love it and hate it all at the same time!!

Winter's Snow

This winter has been a snowy one so far... one storm giving us about 14 inches during its path. The news weatherman has made his announcement that January is our snowiest month...something I'm personally hoping he's wrong on, and usually come March when the high school's have their winter sports tournaments we seem to have one weekend that brings us yet another big snowfall. Space management is crucial... and with our 'early' snowfalls, it seems my driveway is slowly losing this battle of space! The main part of the drive is pretty much at its normal limits... its the entrance that is beginning to show the signs of whittling away and becoming narrower, mostly due to the dreaded but helpful plowing of the street!
The snow still has its sparkle and brightness... an amazing beauty in the early darkness of winter's short days. Later this spring this will change to the drab messiness of its melting. The salts and sands which now bring saftey to our driving will dull the whiteness, yet this sign brings hope of green grass and spring flowers which is always a welcome site after a long winter.
This coming week, though brings about the brutal temps of the great white north.... we are looking at temps that will not climb above zero for a couple days. As strong, hearty Minnesotans, most will embrace this and still celebrate the great outdoors! Kids will still bundle up and hit the skating rinks, adults become animated and participate in lawnmower races on the lakes... and some set up the ice houses and revial amind the winds to outsmart a few fish beneath the ice. Winter is something that cannot be avoided..the snows will fall, the temps will chill but in search of some sanity, we all do our best to get through this season to be rewarded by the next.
Enjoy the beauty in each day.... for once gone, it cannot be relived but only in memories.

The New Year.... a time to redefine things

Well, its the new year and I've yet to blog.... I've been trying to figure out what it is I'm doing with this blog. Times change, things happen.... a new direction occurs. I'm looking for that direction at the moment, I am around here and there.... once the blog bug bites again, it just might not let go, lol. Until then... keep safe and have a wonderful new year!
